
Insurance Defense Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
β’ Represent clients across all facets of insurance defense practice.
β’ Manage cases that are generally low in complexity and exposure.
β’ Oversee all stages of cases, from intake through to resolution.
β’ Litigate low complexity and exposure cases, performing necessary duties from intake to trial and/or settlement.
β’ Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and briefs.
β’ Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials.
β’ Proactively update leadership about case handling opportunities and challenges faced.
β’ Consult with the Claims Department regarding the legal aspects of files.
β’ May serve as second chair during trials and handle trials in cases with minimal complexity and/or exposure.
β’ May assist senior attorneys in more complex and/or high exposure cases.
β’ Must be licensed to practice law in relevant states upon hire.
β’ Bachelor's degree is preferred.
β’ Experience in civil litigation and/or personal/bodily injury is preferred.
β’ Skilled in public speaking.
β’ Strong verbal communication and active listening abilities.
β’ Excellent writing skills.
β’ Effective negotiation capabilities.
β’ Ability to represent the company to external stakeholders.
β’ Exhibits sound judgment and decision-making skills.
β’ Demonstrates effective time management and prioritization abilities.
β’ Possesses a strong technical aptitude.
β’ Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance efficiency in a virtual, paperless environment.
