This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• The AR Specialist is tasked with the collection efforts on Insurance Accounts.
• Manage the accounts receivable for Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
• Submit appeals and investigate denials from Insurance Carriers.
• Process accounts receivable as assigned.
• Ensure timely follow-up on denials.
• A minimum internet download speed of 40Mbps is required to effectively operate SIS Systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing, insurance guidelines, and the appeals process is essential.
• Experience in Healthcare Insurance Collection is necessary.
• Proficiency in using computers and Windows-based software is required.
• A collaborative work attitude is essential for interacting with co-workers, management, patients, and external contacts.
• Ability to foster a positive company image with patients, insurance providers, and the public is necessary.
• A clear understanding of the insurance collection process is mandatory.
• Proven experience in writing appeals and initiating/following up on them is required.
• Comfort in interacting with insurance representatives is essential.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills are required.
• Familiarity with managed care contracts, including fee schedules and allowable amounts, is important.
• Experience collaborating with non-participating providers is preferred.
