This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a designated pipeline of mortgage loans throughout the post-closing review and resolution phase.
• Perform thorough evaluations of closed loan files to ensure adherence to underwriting standards, mortgage insurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Assess appraisals, credit reports, income documentation, and other relevant papers for precision and completeness.
• Examine loan files to pinpoint discrepancies, deficiencies, and possible compliance concerns.
• Investigate and rectify post-closing matters with agencies, lending institutions, brokers, borrowers, and internal teams.
• Analyze and interpret underwriting documentation along with automated underwriting system results, including DU and LP findings.
• Confirm that loan files align with mortgage insurance criteria prior to securing insurance.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Operations, Quality Control, Closing, Post-Closing, and various internal teams.
• Utilize judgment when determining documentation, follow-up, and resolution strategies.
• Contribute to quality control efforts and identify recurring challenges and process enhancements.
• Stay updated on mortgage insurance requirements, underwriting guidelines, and industry standards.
• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as necessary.
• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with mortgage insurance requirements and guidelines.
• At least 1 year of experience with Encompass or a comparable mortgage loan origination system.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting DU and LP findings.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, underwriting standards, and post-closing procedures.
• Capable of analyzing loan files, identifying discrepancies, and determining the correct resolution steps.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proven commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to manage a designated pipeline while prioritizing multiple loans, issues, and deadlines concurrently.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with a talent for researching issues and collaborating towards solutions.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion when reviewing loan documentation and resolving exceptions.
• Flexible communication style suitable for effectively engaging with various audiences, including agencies, lenders, brokers, borrowers, and internal teams.
