Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide support to municipal water and wastewater clients located in the Sacramento, California area.

• Program, configure, test, and commission SCADA systems.

• Enhance client operations, processes, and technology by delivering solutions that boost operational efficiency, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

• Assist in the design of control systems, oversee construction projects, and manage public bidding processes.

• Develop technical documentation such as SCADA Master Plans and Preliminary Engineering Reports.

• Work collaboratively with operators, maintenance personnel, managers, and engineers.

• Engage in client workshops and serve on project teams.

• Support the Business Development Team with proposal efforts and identify additional work opportunities.

• Mentor junior engineers and work alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

• Travel to client locations up to 50% of the time, depending on project requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, configuring, and commissioning SCADA system PLCs, HMIs, OITs, and associated SCADA software.

• Proficiency in instrumentation and control system design, including the design of control system networks.

• Experience in training clients on newly implemented control systems.

• Knowledge of SCADA / OT Master Planning.

• Familiarity with construction phase services, including bidding processes, submittal reviews, responding to RFIs, and witnessing factory and field tests.

• Background in the municipal water and wastewater sector.

• Experience in consulting is preferred.

• A Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one is required.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time based on project demands.
