
Installation & Maintenance Technician, Customer Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide maintenance services for customer installations throughout the North West
• Install and uninstall equipment as needed
• Diagnose and repair equipment issues
• Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with legal PSSR inspections
• Assist onsite project teams with commissioning and decommissioning tasks
• Work with cryogenic equipment, pumps, motors, and high-pressure systems involving hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and CO₂
• Engage in Basic Safety Process activities, including safety meetings and related tasks
• Adhere to customer-specific safety protocols and procedures
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with legal regulations at sites
• Carry out both statutory and non-statutory maintenance work
• Address unplanned corrective maintenance tasks
• Keep accurate records of work completed
• Manage pressure, temperature, flow, level, and gas-detection instrumentation
• Service pressure relief valves and bursting discs
• Maintain shutdown systems, control valves, and pneumatic control systems
• Offer operational support to both customers and internal teams
• Communicate with customers regarding site access and job preparation
• Collaborate with internal teams on installation approvals and Safe to Fill processes
• Utilize ServiceMax and WorkDay for managing work orders
• Recognized Instrument, Electrical, or Mechanical Apprenticeship and/or HNC or NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Good educational background including Mathematics and English (Grade C or above)
• Valid UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Experience with Pressurised Systems (PSSR 2000 compliance) – desirable
• Proficiency in brazing, welding, or fabrication – desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with documented customer-facing experience
• Field experience in installations and maintenance activities
• Background in mechanical, piping, instrumentation, or fitting
• Familiarity with ERP platforms like SAP or ServiceMax and experience with PDA usage
• Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplined teams
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed
• Ability to travel frequently and work remotely
