Inpatient Eligibility Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Delivers virtual assistance to patients who are uninsured or under-insured, helping them assess their eligibility for Medicaid and Financial Assistance programs.

• Supports patients throughout the application process via phone communication.

• Establishes a connection with patients through empathetic, clear, and professional dialogue.

• Aids patients in accurately completing their applications.

• Ensures all necessary information is gathered and provides straightforward instructions regarding the documentation required for submission.

• Takes responsibility for timely follow-ups and the efficient processing of applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Required Experience: 1-2 years in the healthcare sector, social work, or case management environment, with a focus on patient interactions concerning financial matters.

• Familiarity with Revenue Cycle operations, including billing, payments, denials, authorizations, and benefit verifications.

• Understanding of health insurance regulations.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Experience in patient access with a background in managed care/insurance.

• Proficient math skills.

• Capacity to grasp complex state program requirements quickly.
