Inpatient Coding Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct quality assessments of inpatient coding across OUH, which includes routine monthly evaluations, focused pre-bill reviews, CDI reconciliations, and second-level review work queues.

• Carry out peer-to-peer auditor assessments.

• Collaborate with teams and departments to address immediate concerns related to account evaluations and code/DRG validation.

• Address coding-related inquiries from both internal and external coding personnel.

• Initiate the rebilling process as necessary for special projects.

• Test tip sheets and training materials developed by the auditing team, providing constructive feedback.

• Achieve or surpass established productivity and accuracy benchmarks.

• Review official data quality standards, coding guidelines, company policies and procedures, and clinical/medical resources to stay updated on coding knowledge.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum Level 1: A High School diploma or GED is required.

• Minimum Level 1: At least 1 year of experience in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing or DRG Validation, along with a minimum of 5 years in Inpatient facility coding is required.

• Minimum Level 1: Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CIC is required.

• Minimum Level 2: A High School diploma or GED is required.

• Minimum Level 2: A minimum of 3 years in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing or DRG Validation, with at least 2 years of coding experience at an Academic Health Center is required.

• Minimum Level 2: Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CIC is required.

• Minimum Level 3: An Associate's degree is required.

• Minimum Level 3: At least 5 years of experience in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing at an Academic Health Center is required.

• Minimum Level 3: Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CIC is required.

• HFMA CRCR certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

• Candidates must reside and work full-time in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX prior to their first day of employment.
