
Inpatient Audit Specialist β PRN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Conducts auditing of Inpatient Facility coding in alignment with the scope of work, aimed at Onboarding, Focused reviews, Service Level Agreements, or other types of evaluations, utilizing appropriate code assignments and related coding elements through MS DRG or APR DRGs.
β’ Delivers comprehensive and clear justifications for any detected modifications, including precise references and the location of documentation.
β’ Stays updated with regulatory changes.
β’ Effectively organizes and prioritizes multiple cases simultaneously to ensure optimal workflow and turnaround time.
β’ Facilitates coder education through the auditing process.
β’ Operates in a professional, efficient, and positive manner.
β’ Complies with the American Health Information Management Association's code of ethics.
β’ Must possess a customer-service orientation and demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, reliability, eagerness to learn, dedication to excellence, and commitment to the profession.
β’ Involves a high complexity of work functions and decision-making.
β’ Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership capabilities.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility inpatient coding and/or auditing.
β’ CCS certification is required, with RHIA or RHIT preferred.
β’ Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate for DRG coding.
β’ Proficient in various software applications, including Epic, Cerner, and other widely-used EMRs.
