Inland Marine Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Build from the Ground Up: Take complete responsibility for initiating, underwriting, and expanding a new Inland Marine book of business from $0 to a high-performing portfolio.

• Underwrite with Accuracy: Assess, price, and bind risks within your authority, with a strong emphasis on Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment, while having the flexibility to intelligently underwrite up to 100% of property exposures when necessary.

• Foster Relationships: Proactively market to and develop connections with production sources; while having an established book of wholesale broker connections is highly advantageous, you will be expected to diligently work to forge new partnerships when required.

• Function Entrepreneurially: Serve as the internal CEO of your book, working alongside leadership to fine-tune appetite, adapt to market trends, and utilize our innovative technology platform for optimal efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial Inland Marine underwriting.

• Specialized Expertise: A demonstrated history and profound technical knowledge in Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment lines.

• Mindset: An entrepreneurial attitude with a strong work ethic, comfortable navigating uncertainty, and driven by the challenge of building a book from the ground up.

• Distribution: Pre-existing relationships with wholesale brokers are highly advantageous, but a proven ability to hunt and establish a submission pipeline from scratch is essential.

• Proficiency in Builders Risk and Contractors Equipment coverage – AAIS experience is preferred.
