This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain functionalities for the presentation and business layers of the online banking platform.

• Implement transactional and self-service workflows for transfers, payments, account openings, certificates, forms, digital signatures, and other products.

• Resolve conflicts and validation failures in Pull Requests.

• Document deployments with installation guides, server configurations, and rollback plans.

• Provide post-installation support in the respective countries.

• Participate in human and AI-assisted reviews of Pull Requests.

• Document technical decisions using ADR.

• Engage in integration and certification cycles for staging, pre-production, and production environments.

• Conduct shift tests, obtain approvals, and manage reintegrations.

• Work with Git, corporate repositories, code owners, agile boards, and production tickets.

• Collaborate with multiple teams and vendors on a shared codebase.

• Address requirements related to security, quality, observability, performance, and traceability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in Java EE development.

• Experience with large-scale web applications and high concurrency.

• Experience in maintaining and evolving existing enterprise applications and legacy code.

• Background in banking, fintech, payments, or other regulated sectors.

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, or a related field.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban.

• Proficient in Java 8 or higher and object-oriented programming.

• Experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE: EJB, JMS, JNDI, servlets, and JSP.

• Knowledge of web frameworks based on action types like Struts and layout types like Tiles.

• Proficient in JSP/JSTL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Experience with Maven, modules, dependencies, and WAR/EAR packaging.

• Proficient in Git and GitHub, including branching, Pull Requests, conflict resolution, and code owners.

• Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or similar.

• Clear communication in Spanish and technical reading in English.

• Ability to document decisions and justify changes.

• Diligence, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and a security mindset.
