This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Develop infrastructure that can effectively manage metadata for hundreds of billions of files, accommodating hundreds of petabytes of user data, and supporting millions of simultaneous connections.
• Contribute to enhancing Dropbox's function as a data-fabric, connecting hundreds of millions of applications, devices, and services globally, while leading initiatives to boost interoperability and adaptability across diverse ecosystems.
• Evaluate and enhance Dropbox's analytics platform to uphold its reputation as one of the industry's most sophisticated systems for deriving valuable insights from extensive data sets.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that improve the performance, reliability, and security of Dropbox's infrastructure, ensuring a smooth user experience worldwide.
• Occasional on-call duties may be required to address bugs, outages, or other operational challenges, aiming to sustain a stable and high-quality experience for our users.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline that involves coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical expertise.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience in building and managing large-scale, multi-threaded, and geographically distributed backend systems.
• Skilled in programming and debugging in various languages including Python, Go, C/C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers.
• Capability to independently carry out tasks as required.
