This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
β’ Design, standardize, and continuously enhance core infrastructure platforms for enterprise applications, operational services, and essential business systems.
β’ Establish and uphold standards for virtualization and hypervisor platforms, focusing on capacity, availability, lifecycle, performance, resilience, and governance.
β’ Assess new technologies, including approved AI tools, to elevate platform quality, accelerate delivery speed, and enhance operational decision-making.
β’ Drive improvements in automation and scripting to minimize manual tasks and enhance configuration control.
β’ Develop scalable designs for public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid infrastructures with a focus on reliability, security, and cost management.
β’ Provide technical leadership in compute, storage, and data protection systems.
β’ Set standards for performance, availability, backup, recovery, replication, data retention, and disaster recovery preparedness.
β’ Work collaboratively with security, application, network, operations, and service management teams on requirements, designs, and implementation strategies.
β’ Assist in data center operations through hardware lifecycle planning, rack and power planning, capacity tracking, and operational documentation.
β’ Advocate for secure, compliant, resilient, and risk-aware engineering practices.
β’ Enhance IT asset visibility, documentation, ownership, and lifecycle tracking.
β’ Facilitate change management by documenting, assessing, communicating, testing, and aligning infrastructure changes with operational standards.
β’ Identify platform deficiencies and propose modernization, consolidation, and cost optimization enhancements.
β’ Significant experience in designing, engineering, or supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms in complex production environments.
β’ Robust hands-on expertise in virtualization and hypervisor platforms, including design standards, capacity management, lifecycle planning, and operational support.
β’ Experience in supporting enterprise compute, storage, backup, recovery, replication, and data protection systems in both production and disaster recovery settings.
β’ Familiarity with data center operations, including hardware lifecycle, rack and power requirements, and vendor management.
β’ Proficiency in PowerShell, Ansible, Python, or other similar automation and scripting technologies.
β’ Deep understanding of infrastructure security, compliance requirements, access controls, system hardening, and resilient design principles.
β’ Experience with IT asset management, change management, incident management, and operational support processes.
β’ Ability to create technical documentation such as architecture standards, runbooks, implementation guides, and decision records.
β’ Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities.
β’ Experience in infrastructure architecture, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, data center engineering, or enterprise operations leadership.
β’ Practical experience with Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, AWS, private cloud platforms, storage systems, or site recovery platforms.
β’ Knowledge of IT service management, change review processes, incident response, problem management, lifecycle planning, and operational readiness reviews.
β’ Understanding of capacity planning, performance tuning, business continuity, disaster recovery testing, and cost optimization strategies.
β’ Relevant certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
