Information Security Specialist – Red Team Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Strategize and carry out comprehensive red team operations, which encompass reconnaissance, initial access, lateral movement, privilege escalation, command-and-control, and achieving objectives.

• Simulate realistic threat actors utilizing established tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), such as those outlined in MITRE ATT&CK.

• Implement phishing and social engineering initiatives while adhering to specified legal and ethical guidelines.

• Create and sustain custom tools, payloads, and infrastructure to facilitate operations.

• Work in close collaboration with Blue Team, Purple Team, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response teams.

• Generate clear and technically precise engagement reports along with executive-level summaries.

• Aid in detection engineering by pinpointing deficiencies in controls, telemetry, and response mechanisms.

• Promote ongoing enhancements of red team methodologies, playbooks, and governance frameworks.

• Provide mentorship to junior operators and participate in knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Over 7 years of experience in offensive security, red teaming, penetration testing, or other comparable hands-on security positions.

• In-depth knowledge of Windows Active Directory environments, identity exploitation, and enterprise authentication processes.

• Established experience with prevalent red team tools (e.g., C2 frameworks, phishing platforms, custom payloads).

• Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and endpoint security measures.

• Capability to execute adversarial activities safely in regulated settings with stringent scope and approval requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including proficiency in report writing and technical presentations.

• Proven track record of working independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
