This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Lead the design and oversight of security technologies, which include firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and various other security devices.
• Offer expertise in security technology to the organization; engage in and provide consultation on various projects.
• Provide guidance to other Information Security teams regarding best practices in security design.
• Execute tasks related to tickets and service requests for both advanced and complex activities.
• Supervise the upkeep of security systems, including firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and other security devices, along with vendor-provided services.
• Assess business requirements; collaborate with leaders across the organization to investigate and propose solutions that balance business needs with risk management.
• Define, create, and assess reports on the performance of information security systems and any event anomalies.
• Author and act as the subject matter expert in defining requirements and standards for information security.
• Continuously monitor and review existing systems to ensure compliance with established standards, supporting business operations.
• Lead the planning and support for disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
• Conduct research on products and vendors, presenting recommendations to management.
• Manage relationships with vendors and equipment suppliers, including the installation and repair of services.
• Perform duties in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering information security solutions and associated services.
• Advanced knowledge of data loss prevention (DLP).
• Familiarity with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
• Proficiency with Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
• Expertise in troubleshooting system performance issues and identifying root causes.
• In-depth understanding of network transport protocols and industry standards.
• Strong process orientation with familiarity with ITIL concepts.
• Knowledge of Vulnerability Management systems and processes.
• Understanding of Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
• Ability to program using scripting languages such as Python, Powershell, VB, C++, and/or others.
• Possession of certifications like CISSP, CASP+, GIAC (GSEC, GCIA, GCIH, GPEN, etc.), CCSP, CISM, Security+, and Microsoft Security certifications (SC-100, SC-200, AZ-500).
