This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Conduct technical performance modeling of innovative industrial technologies, including industrial heat pumps, electrode boilers, electric dryers/ovens, and other clean heating systems.
• Carry out industrial process modeling and unit-operations analysis to assess technology compatibility within complex facility systems.
• Perform techno-economic evaluations encompassing feasibility studies, payback modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI calculations.
• Assess site-specific applicability to determine the technical and economic viability of emerging technologies in facility processes.
• Assist in technology landscape scanning, evaluating new clean heat technologies and early-stage innovations.
• Contribute to the analysis and evaluation of emerging concepts such as load flexibility and grid-interactive technologies (experience preferred but not mandatory).
• Create clear and engaging reports, models, and presentations utilized by internal teams, utilities, and clients.
• Collaborate with vendors, utilities, and stakeholders to gather data, validate assumptions, and enhance technology assessments.
• Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, aiding stakeholders in understanding the practical and strategic implications of emerging technologies.
• Leverage digital tools—including AI, Copilot, Excel, and other modeling platforms—to expedite analysis and documentation.
• Strong expertise in technology performance modeling, including a grasp of actual versus theoretical equipment performance.
• Practical experience with industrial process modeling or unit operations modeling.
• Proven capability to execute techno-economic analyses (TEA).
• Background in engineering or analytics (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Process, or related fields).
• High-level analytical skills in Excel or similar modeling platforms.
