Independent Board Member

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Offer independent oversight, challenge, and strategic advice to management and fellow Board Members.

• Engage actively in monitoring strategy, financial performance, governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and customer protection.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a Board member or senior executive within regulated financial services.

• Comprehensive understanding of governance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.

• Strong commercial judgment and strategic thinking capabilities.

• High standards of integrity, ethics, independence of thought, and professionalism.

• Ability to provide constructive challenges while fostering a collaborative environment.

• Proficiency in the Swedish language.

• The successful applicant must undergo and pass the suitability assessment (lämplighetsprövning) in accordance with relevant regulations.

• Preferred Experience: Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential:

• Banking, consumer finance, lending, payments, or fintech.

• Knowledge of Swedish financial regulations, including AML/CFT.

• Experience engaging with Finansinspektionen and/or other financial regulatory bodies.

• Expertise in credit risk, treasury, capital adequacy, or risk management.

• Background in audit, accounting, or financial reporting.

• Experience in growth-stage or regulated financial institutions.

• Familiarity with technology, IT, and cybersecurity.

• Involvement in product development.
