This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Acts as the customer service representative connecting the company with its customers.

β€’ Addresses issues (such as billing inquiries and shipment tracking) and resolves customer concerns.

β€’ Cultivates strong relationships with clients.

β€’ Prepares essential documents for import customs clearance of client shipments (e.g., bonds, bills, classification/release reports), including PGAs.

β€’ Monitors shipments and redirects freight as necessary.

β€’ Communicates and collaborates with CBP and various PGAs to address routine matters.

β€’ Prepares import documentation, which includes bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents, and ensures distribution to all relevant parties.

β€’ Engages in cross-training for additional responsibilities.

β€’ Manages confidential information appropriately.

β€’ Possesses experience related to client submission requirements and the clearance of specific commodities.

β€’ Opens files, logs notes, and manages information and document requests within corporate systems.

β€’ Reviews documentation or issues necessary documents to comply with government and carrier regulations.

β€’ Converts and verifies shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency.

β€’ Sends information and document requests to company personnel, suppliers, service providers, and/or U.S. government agencies as needed.

β€’ Collaborates with specific offices, departments, and teams regarding all customs brokerage-related issues.

β€’ Ensures adherence to compliance standards set by U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, USFWS, etc.

β€’ Maintains communication with customers, carriers, and vendors.

β€’ Coordinates shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and container freight stations to the customer/consignee destination.

β€’ Manages pick-ups and invoice files.

β€’ Stays informed about regulations, laws, guidelines, and Deringer requirements.

β€’ Serves as a resource for both internal and external clients.

β€’ Accurately handles accounting processes in a timely manner.

β€’ Undertakes additional duties as assigned by management.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ High school diploma or GED.

β€’ A minimum of 2 years of experience in northern border customs.
