This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Oversee the complete process of international shipments, including air, ocean, and inland freight.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Proactively monitor shipments and identify potential risks, delays, or issues before they develop further.
• Validate pallet configurations, packaging standards, and readiness for shipment.
• Ensure vendors adhere to shipping schedules and requirements.
• Manage relationships with approximately 30 global vendors, serving as the primary contact for logistics coordination.
• Consistently follow up on purchase orders, shipment statuses, and necessary documentation.
• Keep vendors aligned with timelines, requirements, and expectations.
• Coordinate shipments from multiple vendors and assist in freight consolidation efforts.
• Handle import documentation, including prior notices, FDA approvals, product codes, and HTS classifications.
• Review all shipping documents for accuracy and completeness before dispatch.
• Coordinate compliance requirements for imported food and regulated goods.
• Maintain well-organized records of shipments, documentation, and compliance workflows.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing shipping costs, including freight consolidation and shifts in transportation modes (air to ocean/reefer).
• Identify inefficiencies in existing logistics workflows and propose enhancements.
• Assist in the standardization of processes, documentation, and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Contribute to the development of a more scalable and efficient supply chain operation.
• Take full responsibility for inbound logistics operations and act as the primary resource for shipment coordination.
• Ensure consistent execution with minimal oversight.
• Mitigate operational friction, delays, and last-minute issues through proactive management.
• In the long term, aid broader supply chain functions such as purchase order drafting and inventory planning.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Availability that aligns with East Coast (EST) hours, including early morning coverage (~7:00 AM EST).
• Residing in Latin America or a compatible time zone to enable real-time coordination.
• Demonstrated experience in import/export logistics, with a strong preference for food or regulated goods.
• Understanding of compliance requirements, including FDA clearance, prior notices, HTS codes, and product classifications.
• Experience in coordinating air, ocean, and inland freight shipments.
• Strong skills in managing vendor and carrier relationships.
• Highly organized, with outstanding attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, vendors, and deadlines concurrently.
• Capacity to operate with urgency and persistence in a fast-paced environment.
