This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a technical authority for pre-roll manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practices.
• Lead efforts in process optimization and aid in process development across various manufacturing sites.
• Address technical issues, equipment failures, and unforeseen challenges in pre-roll production.
• Evaluate and enhance processing techniques to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Suggest and execute process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Support bench-top research and development for new pre-roll products and advancements in processes.
• Educate production teams on standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, safety measures, and equipment handling.
• Produce educational resources and conduct refresher training sessions.
• Travel to underperforming sites for root cause analysis and retraining efforts.
• Assist in preparing technology transfer documentation and train new locations on updated processes.
• Create and maintain corporate pre-roll SOPs, work aids, Technical Alert Management Updates (TAMUs), and Operating Procedure Lists (OPLs).
• Develop documentation for site readiness related to product and process launches.
• Report safety incidents and adhere to safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), biosecurity, sanitation, and quality standards.
• In-depth working knowledge of pre-roll manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Experience in pre-roll product development and familiarity with all pre-roll offerings.
• Proven track record in innovating and commercializing pre-roll products within the cannabis or hemp industry.
• Background in pre-roll production, covering milling, infusing, filling, closing, painting, and packaging.
• Proficient with manufacturing and laboratory equipment and procedures involved in pre-roll development.
• Capable of planning and designing experiments, troubleshooting issues, solving problems, and managing various projects simultaneously.
• Skilled in independently diagnosing, repairing, and servicing equipment and software.
• Knowledgeable about laboratory practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations pertaining to hazardous materials.
• Ability to comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, safety guidelines, codes, organizational policies, directives, and SOPs.
• Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
• Valid state identification required.
• Must be able to meet and uphold state badging prerequisites, including background checks and state evaluations.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• An Associate’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field is preferred.
• 50–75% travel as necessary to support manufacturing facilities.
• Compliance with state badging requirements for employment in the cannabis industry.
