This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serve as the Project Manager for small to large-scale multi-phase software implementation initiatives within municipal Building and Planning departments.

• Strategically plan, monitor, and communicate throughout the implementation lifecycle, managing project constraints to meet client success goals.

• Act as a trusted advisor to municipal clients, providing best-practice recommendations for permitting, inspections, planning workflows, and development review processes.

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with planners, inspectors, permit technicians, and administrative staff to identify business objectives and operational necessities.

• Conduct software demonstrations specific to municipal permitting, licensing, and land-use management scenarios.

• Develop and maintain configuration, testing, process, and project documentation; configure model components based on analysis of municipal workflows.

• Analyze data sets pertaining to permits, inspections, parcels, and planning applications to establish optimal configuration and migration strategies.

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous end-user training for municipal personnel, either remotely or onsite as needed.

• Create comprehensive technical specifications for data imports/exports, custom routines, and support issues.

• Leverage internal Project Management Software to oversee the lifecycle of each implementation and generate project reports and status updates.

• Familiarize yourself with PSD’s product release and patch processes, and prepare for potential impacts on municipal clients.

• Engage in team status meetings, review JIRA tickets, collaborate on solutions, and prioritize requirements effectively.

• Escalate client-related issues to the appropriate team members to ensure prompt resolution.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a comparable role involving the implementation of complex software modules or municipal technology solutions.

• College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Management, GIS, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline.

• At least 2 years of experience employing standard software implementation techniques in a client-facing capacity, ideally with municipal or public-sector clients.

• 3–5 years of experience with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.

• Familiarity with cloud software environments and intermediate to advanced proficiency in contemporary technologies such as Google Suite, JIRA, Kantata, etc.

• Experience with municipal clients, particularly in Building, Planning, or Community Development departments, is a significant asset.

• Knowledge and/or experience working with extensive data sets, including permitting, parcel, or land-use data.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and presentation abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the cultivation of strong client relationships and guiding municipal teams through transitions.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• A growth-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset.

• Valid driver’s license and passport for travel purposes.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
