This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Execute studies related to HVDC projects, including feasibility assessments, design phases, tender design, and detailed design; derive main circuit parameters and equipment requirement specifications for both LCC and VSC based HVDC projects, primarily across Asia, as well as in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Africa.
• Assist in Business Development efforts by preparing proposals, participating in client meetings, and offering relevant technical advice.
• Develop thorough study reports, encompassing HVDC feasibility studies for energy developers, as well as FEED and detailed studies.
• Produce high-quality deliverables within established parameters, formats, and timelines, while also reviewing the work of colleagues when necessary.
• Perform intricate assessments, offer specialized advice/solutions and training, and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external clients.
• Participate in technical development initiatives, including attending conferences and taking part in industry presentations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 5-10 years of pertinent experience as an Electrical Engineer in HVDC projects, including feasibility/design studies, detailed engineering, site implementation, component engineering, and technical support for national transmission utilities.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate Business Development and client interactions.
• Additional experience in cable design, protection coordination, relay settings studies, earthing grid studies, and lightning protection, preferably for an HVDC converter station.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards related to detailed electrical design for HVDC and T&D assets, such as IEC, IEEE/ANSI, and NFPA standards.
• Proven experience in HVDC projects.
• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical software tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.
• Experience working within an HVDC EPC/supplier context, and/or supporting similar projects within technical consultancy firms, or experience with a utility on HVDC assets.
• Capability to manage tasks under time and resource constraints.
• Proficient level of English communication.
