This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• The HVDC Commissioning Lead Engineer will be accountable for the testing and execution of commissioning activities for various ongoing projects.
• Ensure adherence to contract requirements and customer satisfaction through effective coordination with client representatives.
• Requires complete presence on the construction site during the execution phase.
• Collaborate with the design office and project management team to ensure timely provision of data necessary for site work preparation (specifications, designs, BOQ, material lists, etc.).
• Create Commissioning documentation including Programs, Procedures, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Checklists, and more.
• Oversee and manage a specific scope of Commissioning within a large-scale HVDC project, while leading an international team of commissioning engineers.
• Regularly report (daily and weekly) to the Site Commissioning Manager on-site.
• Monitor daily commissioning activities on-site and act as the primary point of contact for the on-site commissioning scope.
• Plan schedules, prepare staffing plans, manage site team mobilization, and track actual performance against plans, including budget and costs.
• Issue test reports and ensure the completion of relevant quality documentation.
• A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or an equivalent qualification.
• Electrical Engineering qualification with at least 5–8 years of experience, or a comparable background in Commissioning management.
• Demonstrated experience as a Commissioning Leader or Lead Commissioning Engineer for HVDC or large substation projects, or similar endeavors in Power Generation or the Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong commitment to health and safety aligned with international standards, with the capability to identify and halt unsafe work practices.
• Knowledge of electrical substations and the commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems.
• Proficient in English, with German language skills being a plus; additional language proficiencies are advantageous.
• Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and internationally, including optional assignments on offshore platforms.
• A valid German driver's license class B, or an equivalent from other countries recognized in Germany.
