This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Support a diverse array of projects for both private and government clients across the U.S. and internationally.
• Conduct and assess ecological risk evaluations following regulatory guidelines and project-specific work plans.
• Create Risk Assessment Work Plans and assist in the development of Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans.
• Collaborate with internal project teams, including assigning tasks to junior staff members.
• Prepare technical deliverables, author reports, and execute or review risk assessment calculations.
• Contribute to proposals and business development efforts, including formulating scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Mentor and nurture the development of junior staff.
• Stay informed about federal and state regulations and guidance documents.
• Ensure work quality, quantity, and efficiency meet or exceed company standards.
• Engage in occasional fieldwork as necessary.
• BA/BS degree in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or a related field, along with 6+ years of experience in ecological risk assessment within environmental consulting, or a demonstrated equivalent of education and experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• A valid driver’s license is necessary.
• Must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review and background check.
• Practical knowledge of USEPA guidance related to ecological risk assessment.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication abilities.
• Experience in conducting food web/bioaccumulation assessments.
• Proficient in data analysis and applied statistics.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience in evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead.
• Familiarity with CERCLA, including Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development.
• Experience in site investigation, field sampling, and wildlife assessment.
• Background in projects involving the Navy or Department of Defense.
• Experience working with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9.
• Experience on projects located in Hawaii, Guam, and other Pacific Islands.
