This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist with projects for both private and government clients across the U.S. and internationally.
• Conduct and evaluate ecological risk assessments in line with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans.
• Create Risk Assessment Work Plans and aid in the development of Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans.
• Collaborate with internal project teams and assign tasks to junior staff members.
• Generate technical deliverables, compose reports, and perform or assess risk assessment calculations.
• Contribute to proposals and business expansion efforts, including defining scopes of work and preparing cost estimates.
• Mentor and foster the development of junior staff.
• Stay informed about federal and state regulations as well as guidance documents.
• Ensure work quality, output, and efficiency meet or exceed company standards.
• Undertake fieldwork occasionally as required.
• BA/BS degree in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or a related field, along with 6+ years of experience in ecological risk assessment within environmental consulting, or equivalent education and experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must successfully pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review and background check.
• Practical knowledge of USEPA guidance related to ecological risk assessment is preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication abilities are preferred.
• Experience in conducting food web/bioaccumulation assessments is preferred.
• Familiarity with data analysis and applied statistics is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead is preferred.
• CERCLA experience, including Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development, is preferred.
• Experience in site investigation, field sampling, and wildlife assessment is preferred.
• Experience on Navy or Department of Defense projects is preferred.
• Experience with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9 is preferred.
• Experience with projects in Hawaii, Guam, and other Pacific Islands is preferred.
