This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct inspections on residential and multifamily properties in accordance with HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS) or Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS).
• Evaluate and document the state of structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Detect and report any code violations or deficiencies to ensure compliance with HUD regulations.
• Produce comprehensive digital reports utilizing GreenWorks’ mobile tools and inspection software.
• Share findings and compliance suggestions with property managers, housing authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Keep precise and timely records for all inspections and field activities.
• Remain updated on HUD standards, inspection protocols, and local housing regulations.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in property inspections, construction, building maintenance, code enforcement, or housing compliance.
• In-depth understanding of HUD standards, Texas building codes, and municipal inspection protocols.
• Previous experience with Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) or affordable housing programs is advantageous.
• Familiarity with REAC, HQS, or FHA 203(k) processes is preferred.
• One or more of the following certifications are mandatory: HQS Inspector Certification – HUD REAC, UPCS Inspector Certification, FHA Roster Inspector credentials, TREC Home Inspector License (Texas) – highly preferred for inspections based in Texas. ICC Certifications (optional but beneficial): B1, E1, M1, P1 (Residential Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing).
• Independent contractor role under 1099 status (no benefits, self-employed).
