
HSE Specialist – Regional Site-Based

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Advocate for safe workplace practices and ensure adherence to the company's HSE policies and procedures on-site.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections at the site and report findings accordingly.
• Ensure that all documentation related to Health & Safety and Environmental Systems is distributed in compliance with company policy.
• Oversee all elements of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, and conservation efforts.
• Facilitate discussions on HSE matters during project review meetings.
• Maintain accurate records to meet both internal and external audit standards set by the company.
• Manage investigations of accidents and incidents, documenting findings and ensuring all corrective actions are executed.
• Ensure compliance with external requirements regarding COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations) documentation.
• Assist site managers and subcontractor owners with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews upon request.
• Provide HSE training as necessary and agreed upon with the Project Manager.
• Propose, communicate, and advocate for initiatives aimed at preventing incidents, forwarding suggestions to the Project Manager and HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration.
• Support the Project Manager during incident investigations.
• Stay informed about current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
• Communicate, demonstrate, and endorse HSE principles, values, and concepts using presentation skills, toolbox talks, and other communication methods.
• Serve as a Role Model for Safe Behavior.
• Coordinate with relevant legal authorities (e.g., H.S.A, EPA, etc.).
• Experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental management within an engineering operation of comparable size and complexity.
• Familiarity with PSCS responsibilities.
• Preferred expertise in EHS management, project, and service management.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or a higher qualification in EHS.
• Proficient in MS Office, SharePoint, ShareFile, and Microsoft Teams.
• Practical experience with Environmental permitting, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or similar management systems.
• Exceptional assertive communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to a dedicated work ethic.
• Ability to engage with individuals at all levels and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.
