This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and suggest necessary updates to policies and practices.

• Maintain compliance calendars, audit schedules, and documentation requirements for Union administration.

• Conduct internal audits of HR files, I-9 forms, payroll practices, timekeeping, and other areas sensitive to compliance.

• Identify potential compliance issues and collaborate with HR leadership to address them effectively.

• Educate HR partners and leaders about new regulatory requirements and best practices for risk prevention.

• Prepare compliance reports, audit summaries, and risk assessments for HR leadership review.

• Ensure accurate and secure records are maintained in line with legal and organizational requirements.

• Support reporting obligations related to EEO-1, VETS, OSHA, or other compliance reports as needed.

• Act as an internal subject matter expert on HR compliance issues.

• Assist with special projects related to compliance, system enhancements, or regulatory changes.


⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

• Ability to analyze issues, assess risks, and propose effective solutions.

• Strong communication and training capabilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience in HR, compliance, or employment law-related roles.

• Experience working in complex regulatory environments.

• Experience in supporting employee relations or conducting internal investigations.

• PHR, SHRM-CP, or advanced compliance certification is a plus.
