HPC Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and upkeep of InfiniBand and Ethernet network infrastructure.

• Aid in diagnosing network problems, including connectivity issues, latency, and performance slowdowns.

• Supervise network health and performance using standard monitoring tools and help identify bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with senior engineers on InfiniBand technologies (switches, HCAs, subnet managers).

• Support the management and troubleshooting of Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, VPNs, firewall configurations).

• Help implement network setups, routing, and segmentation.

• Work alongside compute and storage teams to facilitate HPC and AI workloads.

• Engage in incident response and operational support tasks.

• Contribute to the documentation of network configurations and processes.

• Acquire knowledge and adopt automation tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, scripting).

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in networking, system engineering, or infrastructure positions.

• Fundamental understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs).

• Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line utilities.

• Experience in data center networking or distributed systems environments.

• Strong enthusiasm to learn and develop proficiency in InfiniBand and HPC networking.

• Exposure to InfiniBand or high-performance networking concepts (preferred).

• Familiarity with Fortinet or other firewall technologies (preferred).

• Basic scripting abilities (e.g., Bash or Python) (preferred).

• Knowledge of monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques (preferred).
