Hospital Service Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main operational liaison for assigned hospital and healthcare system accounts.

• Develop and nurture robust relationships with hospital leadership, including Environmental Services (EVS), Facilities, Nursing, Safety, Infection Prevention, and other key stakeholders.

• Ensure the delivery of all contracted services is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations and company standards.

• Manage daily hospital waste operations, which includes staffing coordination, scheduling, inventory oversight, and operational performance monitoring.

• Supervise and assist hospital waste technicians, leads, coordinators, and onsite personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.

• Analyze operational trends, waste volumes, service efficiencies, and container usage to pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Address customer inquiries, escalations, operational interruptions, and critical service challenges promptly and professionally.

• Perform operational, compliance, and safety audits to ensure adherence to DOT, HIPAA, medical waste, hazardous waste, and other regulatory standards.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Compliance, Transportation, Hazardous Waste, and Customer Service teams to enhance service delivery and foster continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist with hospital installations, new program implementations, renovations, and service expansion projects while minimizing disruption to existing operations.

• Perform additional duties as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Environmental Services, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

• A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare services, environmental services, waste management, logistics, or similar operational settings is preferred.

• Experience within hospitals or regulated healthcare environments is highly preferred.

• Proven track record in leading teams, managing customer relationships, and enhancing operational performance.

• Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory standards in healthcare or industrial service environments.

• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting tools.

• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays as necessary.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced, customer-centric, and highly regulated healthcare environments.
