This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for coding in critical access hospitals, covering emergency departments and infusion services.
• Guarantee prompt and precise coding of medical claims to optimize reimbursement for rendered services.
• Extract clinical data and convert medical documentation into appropriate codes.
• Stay updated on current coding standards and regulations.
• Report coding and billing concerns to management.
• Engage in departmental meetings and ongoing educational opportunities.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
• High School Diploma or GED - mandatory.
• Associate Degree - preferred.
• Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - required.
• Three to five years of experience in emergency room coding, infusion coding, or specialty clinic procedure coding - preferred.
• Two years of experience with formal coding training - acceptable.
• Proficient understanding of medical terminology - required.
• Experience with Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Health Clinic coding is an advantage.
• Competence in Microsoft Office.
• Proven strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to navigate multiple client systems and prioritize tasks effectively.
