Clinical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the accurate and timely assignment of clinical codes to patient care episodes at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.

• Involves reviewing patient record documentation and utilizing the appropriate version of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Australian Modification (ICD10AM).

• Implementing Australian Coding Standards and adhering to relevant advice from State Coding authorities.

• Engage in ongoing training and educational sessions, as well as participate in continuous audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or an equivalent qualification, or Clinical Coding credentials from HIMAA or a comparable body.

• A minimum of two years of experience in clinical coding.

• Prior experience using 3M Codefinder software.

• Proven experience in clinical coding across various DRGs with demonstrated high-quality coding capabilities.

• Current knowledge of Clinical Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards, with a willingness to engage in performance and quality improvement initiatives.
