Hospital Inpatient Coder VI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the ICD 10 codes recommended by computer-assisted coding software.

• Ensure compliance with official coding standards and electronic medical record documentation.

• Work in conjunction with the Clinical Documentation Specialist.

• Extract essential data elements required for billing and data analysis.

• Methodically review and code patient records.

• Achieve established coding accuracy and production benchmarks.

• Display comprehensive knowledge of coding standards, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, reimbursement models, and Payor-specific guidelines.

• Examine and assess medical records to assign the correct codes.

• Inform coding leadership of trends for educational purposes and feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED - Mandatory.

• Associate's degree - Preferred.

• 2 years of Coding experience - Required.

• CCS, Certified Coding Specialist from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required.

• RHIT, Registered Health Information Technician from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.

• RHIA, Registered Health Information Administrator from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Preferred.
