This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Offer physician oversight for hospice patients through telephone and telemedicine consultations.
• Manage intricate symptoms and modify medications to enhance comfort and quality of life.
• Address admission and clinical consultation inquiries from nursing staff and admission teams.
• Certify hospice eligibility following Medicare guidelines.
• Work in close collaboration with hospice nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, chaplains, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide after-hours physician coverage during designated call rotations.
• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a relevant specialty.
• Active medical license in California.
• DEA registration required.
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Hospice or Palliative care.
• Engaging work that supports patients and families during one of life’s most significant transitions.
• Fully remote practice with flexible scheduling.
• A collaborative and supportive team of physicians.
• Comprehensive onboarding and mentorship for physicians new to hospice care.
• Competitive hourly pay along with additional compensation for on-call duties.
