HME Reimbursement Specialist – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Acquire and uphold physician orders, authorizations, Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMN), and pertinent documentation for reimbursement purposes

• Participate in in-service education and training regarding policies, procedures, and work-related materials

• Act as an internal resource for qualifying criteria, payment limitations, and necessary documentation

• Support patient financial services by ensuring accurate patient account charges

• Authenticate documentation, review and monitor orders for appropriate billing

• Confirm balances and receipts for payments and finalize End of Day reports

• Schedule and manage CMNs and physician orders, entering completed orders into the billing system

• Investigate and resolve overdue or delinquent accounts via mail and telephone

• Examine customer accounts, record findings, and process adjustments for non-covered or denied services

• Make final independent judgments regarding the accuracy of documentation for home medical equipment

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent practical knowledge

• 2-3 years of experience in patient accounts, pharmacy, or equipment intake

• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards for medical equipment and infusion medications for government and third-party agencies

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service

• Proven organizational and problem-solving abilities

• Capability to maintain detailed records concerning equipment and medical records

• Proficiency in effective communication

• Ability to prioritize and manage daily tasks efficiently

• Demonstrated capacity to use and enhance proficiency with computers and office software
