HIM QA Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main support contact for the Health System, which includes 8 acute care hospitals, Baptist outpatient services, and ambulatory surgical centers.

• Assist with staff onboarding and provide continuous educational support.

• Conduct quality assurance for tasks within the designated area of responsibility.

• Review reports and workflows to pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Collaborate with Information Technology to test and troubleshoot new software applications and system upgrades.

• Ensure adherence to TJC, CMS, OIG, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, AHIMA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and applicable state and federal laws regarding information release.

• Engage with clinical and administrative departments, physicians, clinicians, and patients.

• Travel between hospitals to fulfill job responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, certification, GED, training, or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

• An Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Services Administration, or equivalent acute-care experience is preferred.

• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is preferred.

• Proficiency in statistics, data collection, and presentation.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize, plan, prioritize tasks, and achieve specific objectives within tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication abilities and understanding of both oral and written instructions.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel between hospitals to perform job functions.

• Typing speed of 25 words per minute.

• Must successfully complete standard filing, Word, and Excel assessments.
