High School Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• The High School Self-Contained Special Education Teacher is a certified professional responsible for delivering specialized course content in an online setting.

• The Special Education Teacher is tasked with providing instruction, support, and guidance, managing the learning process, and prioritizing the individual needs of students.

• Actively collaborates with students and parents to enhance each student's learning experience.

• Ensures compliance with documentation requirements necessary for serving students with special needs.

• Guarantees that all special education and related services are delivered as specified by the IEP team.

• Communicates with parents and relevant service staff to make sure that students with special needs receive appropriate therapies.

• Develops compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-specific special education documentation as required.

• Facilitates and leads collaborative meetings in special education, such as annual IEP meetings.

• Utilizes available resources to provide accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND

• Active state teaching license AND

• Ability to pass the necessary background check

• Capability to work collaboratively with other educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, using it to guide instructional decisions

• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators

• Willingness to adapt to change to ensure optimal student outcomes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
