This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Certified teachers will work full-time from home, overseeing instructional programs.
• Enhance the instructional program by facilitating asynchronous web conferencing sessions and providing synchronous instruction.
• Timely completion of grading, creation of progress reports, and conducting parent conferences are essential responsibilities.
• Regular communication with parents, students, and fellow educators is necessary to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, offer feedback on student assignments, recommend instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects.
• Acquire a general understanding of the entire K-12 curriculum while having an in-depth knowledge of the specific grades for which you are responsible.
• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and offer additional support for daily assignments and projects.
• Maintain up-to-date student records and data, including online student and family information, attendance tracking, and logging all interactions with students and parents.
• Collaborate with team members and learning specialists to create alternate enrichment activities and modify programs to enhance student understanding.
• Develop and implement virtual strategies to foster a sense of “school community”.
• Take part in the organization and administration of State Testing, as directed.
• Engage in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives that require teacher participation.
• Participate in field trips and other community events organized for families.
• Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.
• Must be certified to teach Secondary Social Studies in South Carolina, appropriate to grade level responsibilities.
• Residency in South Carolina is required.
• A Gifted and Talented Endorsement is highly recommended.
• Strong proficiency in technology, particularly with MS Office programs and Google Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must be highly organized and punctual.
• A customer-focused approach is necessary.
• A high degree of flexibility is required.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A history of being a team player is essential.
• Willingness to occasionally travel for school and state testing events, which may involve overnight stays.
• Ability to work remotely, if necessary.
• Availability for some occasional evening hours, as needed to support families.
• Must be able to utilize a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step verification.
