This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Facilitates dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Dedicated to personalizing education for each student.
• Holds a strong belief in the potential of all students to achieve and fulfill high expectations.
• Adapts instruction based on the mastery level of each student.
• Enhances course materials following established policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach.
• Manages the grade book to uphold student academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placements and promotions, and notifies administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Recognizes that a core responsibility is to cultivate and sustain positive relationships with families, regularly communicating and responding promptly to students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional challenges, along with basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting that aligns with academy policies and procedures.
• Required to travel as necessary (averaging once a month and/or roughly 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and as mandated by the school.
• Bachelor's degree AND
• Active state teaching license AND
• Ability to successfully clear required background checks.
• Experience working with the designated age group.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology use.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) environment and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Capability to collaborate with fellow teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, utilizing it to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Ability to adapt to change and ensure excellent outcomes for students.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
