This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Delivers immersive and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Dedicated to personalizing education for every student.
• Holds a strong belief in the potential of all students to achieve and meet high standards.
• Adjusts instruction based on each student’s level of mastery.
• Enhances course content in accordance with established policies and procedures using the appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the direction of the principal and coach.
• Manages the grade book to ensure academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Assists learning coaches and parents with curricular and instructional matters, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting that aligns with academy policies and procedures.
• Travels as needed (averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student assessments, and as required by the school.
• Bachelor's degree AND an active state teaching license AND the ability to pass a required background check.
• Experience working with the designated age group.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology use.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) setting and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and utilize this information to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Capable of adapting to changes to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
