This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Create dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for high school students in an online setting.
• Customize learning and differentiate instruction based on each student's mastery level.
• Enhance course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous educational tools.
• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity among students.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of any performance issues.
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and parents/learning coaches.
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting matters.
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and utilize it to inform instructional strategies.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school-related events.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid state teaching license.
• Art certification/license; out-of-state certification must secure West Virginia reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
• Capability to pass the required background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours.
• Preferred experience with the specified age group.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology is preferred.
• Prior experience teaching online or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Must be willing to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
