Helpline Counselor – Weekend Coverage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide crisis and suicide intervention services.

• Carry out basic needs and safety evaluations.

• Offer information, community service referrals, and supportive listening via phone or virtual chat.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Florida, living within the state.

• Require a secure, quiet, and confidential workspace with dependable internet access.

• Should not have caregiver responsibilities during working hours.

• Must successfully pass a level two (2) DCF background check and drug screening prior to employment.

• Education requirements must be met or exceeded:

- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in psychology, human services, education, mental health, social work, early intervention, or a related field, along with one (1) or more years of experience in crisis and suicide intervention, counseling, therapy, and assessment techniques, or experience in children's behavioral health, substance use, or the special needs system of care; OR

- An associate's degree accompanied by two (2) or more years of experience in suicide/crisis intervention.

• Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM is required.

• Must be comfortable working in a phone and virtual chat-based environment.

• Availability for remote work from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Eastern time) Monday to Friday for six (6) weeks of initial training starting in September 2026 (hours will adjust to your permanent schedule after training completion).

• Commitment to working full shifts on Saturdays and Sundays as part of the regular schedule.
