Helpline Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• We are looking for compassionate individuals who are knowledgeable, driven, goal-oriented, technologically adept, and enthusiastic to fill several Helpline Counselor roles.

• Responsibilities include providing crisis and suicide intervention services, conducting basic needs and safety assessments, and offering information, community service referrals, and supportive listening through phone or virtual chat.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Florida.

• Should have a secure, quiet, and confidential workspace with dependable internet access.

• Must not have caregiving responsibilities during work hours.

• Must successfully pass a level two (2) DCF background check and drug screening before employment.

• Educational qualifications include:

- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in psychology, human services, education, mental health, social work, early intervention, or a related field, along with at least one (1) year of experience in crisis and suicide intervention, counseling, therapy, and assessment techniques, or experience in children's behavioral health, substance use, or the special needs care system; OR

- An associate's degree plus two (2) years of experience in suicide/crisis intervention.

• A minimum typing speed of 30 WPM is required.

• Must be comfortable working in a phone and virtual chat environment.

• Availability for 16-29 overnight hours weekly with a consistent schedule that includes both Saturday and Sunday (flexible and accommodating options are available for additional hours).

• Must be available for training Monday through Friday from either 10 AM to 3 PM or 12 PM to 5 PM for 8 weeks before starting overnight shifts.
