This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and enhance data transformation tools using SQL, Python, and Scala for EHR migrations, data archiving, and data streaming projects.
• Create and sustain scalable processes for ingesting and normalizing both structured and unstructured healthcare data sourced from EHRs, HL7, and FHIR.
• Execute data quality assessments and validation rules across various systems.
• Automate ETL workflows to boost performance and enhance system reliability.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, analysts, and solution architects to convert client data requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Keep documentation updated for data mappings, transformation logic, and system configurations.
• Ensure compliance with data protection standards including HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, and HITRUST frameworks.
• Identify and rectify data-related challenges to reduce disruptions in client projects.
• Offer daily technical leadership, documentation, guidance, and support for Implementation Engineering teams.
• Enhance the consistency, quality, scalability, and efficiency of technical implementations for clients.
• Foster collaboration between Implementation Engineering, Platform Engineering, Project Management, and other delivery functions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in a Data Engineer role or a comparable position, with a focus on data transformation and ETL development.
• In-depth knowledge of data transformation principles, data modeling, and database design methodologies.
• Proficiency in SQL programming, including the development of complex queries, stored procedures, and optimization of database performance.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL, along with relevant tools.
• 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming languages, including SQL, Python, or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data/computing frameworks like Hadoop and Spark.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data services, particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory standards, particularly HIPAA, is also highly desirable.
