Healthcare Credential Exam Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist AAPC in the development of certification exams by creating, reviewing, maintaining, and validating credentialing assessments and related examination products.

• Work closely with subject matter experts, exam committees, and internal stakeholders to guarantee that certification exams meet industry standards.

• Create and maintain certification exam items that evaluate practical healthcare knowledge and skills.

• Aid in the development of practice exams, study materials, courses, and other educational resources.

• Perform technical and quality evaluations of examination and educational content.

• Lead and guide Exam Development Committees and exam item authors.

• Establish and sustain exam competency maps and certification blueprints.

• Oversee beta testing and assist in item validation activities.

• Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives and team collaboration meetings.

• Contribute to additional projects and strategic initiatives as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current coding certification from a recognized organization (e.g., AAPC or AHIMA).

• Strong knowledge of medical coding, billing, auditing, compliance, or revenue cycle operations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Preferred experience in a coding or billing environment.

• Preferred experience in national exam item writing.

• Preferred experience in healthcare education, credentialing, or certification.

• Familiarity with psychometrics, exam development, or adult learning principles is preferred.
