Health Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer motivational encouragement and educational communication to 9amHealth members dealing with obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and weight issues through Zoom.

• Employ motivational interviewing and coaching strategies to foster sustainable behavior modifications in areas such as nutrition, sleep hygiene, physical activity, and stress management, adhering to the standards of care established by NBC-HWC.

• Keep an updated calendar to facilitate member appointment scheduling.

• Leverage member information to customize sessions and assist members in reaching their health objectives.

• Accurately document all member interactions and visits in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Strengthen nutrition and lifestyle plans created by 9amHealth Registered Dietitians, personalizing advice to align with each member’s aspirations and preferences.

• Address member concerns and contribute to delivering an outstanding care experience.

• Provide compassionate, inclusive care that honors and reflects the varied backgrounds, identities, and experiences of all members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active certification in health coaching or related disciplines; NBC-HWC certification is mandatory.

• Proficiency in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity.

• Over 5 years of direct client care experience, preferably in clinical or telehealth environments focused on chronic disease coaching.

• Familiarity with digital tools, including EMRs and coaching platforms.

• Excellent relationship-building capabilities with a focus on compassionate and personalized communication.

• Self-motivated and dependable, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and accountability in providing high-quality care independently.

• Experience in virtual care settings, including chat, phone, and video interactions.

• A dedicated, private workspace equipped with reliable high-speed internet to ensure confidential care delivery.
