Head of Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Take charge of KeyMik's comprehensive technology strategy, architecture, infrastructure, and engineering roadmap.

• Lead, manage, mentor, and ensure accountability among engineering and technical team members for their performance and deliverables.

• Convert business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and technically robust solutions.

• Make crucial decisions concerning architecture, technology stack, development practices, integrations, and infrastructure.

• Supervise the development, maintenance, optimization, and scalability of the KeyMik platform.

• Evaluate technical designs, pull requests, system architecture, and engineering decisions.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards, development workflows, documentation, testing processes, and deployment practices.

• Collaborate closely with the Founder, product, operations, marketing, and other teams to prioritize technical initiatives.

• Manage technical roadmaps, sprint priorities, project timelines, and engineering deliverables.

• Identify technical risks, system bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability challenges before they escalate into business issues.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, system performance, data security, and platform reliability.

• Ensure the maintenance of appropriate development, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Lead incident response, technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system recovery when issues arise.

• Manage and optimize third-party integrations, APIs, payment systems, communication tools, analytics platforms, and other technology services.

• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, technology leadership, or a related technical field.

• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or overseeing a significant technology function.

• Background in a startup, scale-up, product company, or a fast-paced technology environment.

• Strong expertise in full-stack software development and modern web application architecture.

• Proficient in cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, authentication, payments, and third-party integrations.

• Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, security, testing, deployment, and system reliability.

• Experience leading remote or distributed engineering teams.

• Strong technical judgment with the capability to make independent decisions.

• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work directly with a Founder and take ownership of the technical strategy and execution.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows is highly preferred.
