This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Take ownership of the program related to Mercury's bank charter and governance initiatives, including managing the sequencing, dependencies, risks, and decisions across engineering, product, design, and data teams.
β’ Establish the TPM operating framework for the banking organization, encompassing the rituals, tools, reporting, and standards necessary to make complex cross-functional tasks clear and efficient.
β’ Develop automation and agentic workflows to execute programs with both efficiency and high quality.
β’ Create and maintain executive-level reporting, distilling a large volume of information into self-service dashboards and concise narratives that highlight key priorities.
β’ Challenge timelines, sequencing, and estimates alongside engineering and product leaders, knowing when to question assumptions.
β’ Build, oversee, and nurture a team of TPMs while directly managing specific program areas.
β’ Navigate decisions amidst uncertainty: clarify ownership, bring trade-offs to light, and utilize constructive conflict to achieve the best outcomes.
β’ Adhere to the documentation and auditability standards required by regulated and governance-intensive work.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in program management, engineering, or product leadership, including at least 3 years of managing TPMs or PMs.
β’ A technical background, preferably in engineering, technical program management, or senior product roles, with the ability to navigate architecture-level trade-offs, timelines, and estimates alongside engineering leaders.
β’ Experience in regulated sectors, with a strong preference for fintech or banking.
β’ Proven history of establishing program management functions or operating systems, rather than solely managing individual programs.
β’ Outstanding communication skills and the capability to influence across various functions, including executives, peers, and teams you do not directly manage.
β’ A solutions-oriented mindset: adept at operating in ambiguous situations and recognized for creating clarity in challenging environments.
