Head of Studio – AI Vertical Drama

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the content slate: greenlight, shape, and rigorously evaluate every series prior to production (5–10 concurrent projects, scaling).

• Manage the writers' room and script review process — every hook, cliffhanger, and episode beat is filtered through your expertise.

• Oversee production throughput: determining how many series we deliver each quarter, along with their quality and cost per episode.

• Establish and uphold the production playbook: including timelines, milestones, and transitions between script, generation, editing, and finishing stages.

• Lead and nurture our team of directors; assist in recruiting additional directors and writers from the vertical drama landscape.

• Convert platform performance data (retention, completion, conversion) into creative direction without simplifying the work into a formulaic approach.

• Collaborate with the AI Content and technology teams to maintain a smooth pipeline and advocate for tooling enhancements.

• Report directly to the CEO and CTO regarding slate performance, team capacity, and strategic initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in short-form or episodic content, including 2–3 years in a senior leadership position (Post-Production Supervisor, Senior Lead Editor, Showrunner, etc.).

• Proven experience in scaling vertical drama at a reputable organization — results should be visible in the catalog.

• Demonstrated history of guiding multiple series from concept to launch, achieving measurable audience engagement.

• Proficient across the entire production arc — from writing to post-production, not confined to one segment.

• In-depth knowledge of the vertical drama playbook: understanding the beats, genres that resonate, casting logic, trailer structure, and platform mechanics.

• Established connections with directors, writers, and producers in the vertical drama ecosystem.

• Hands-on experience with AI generation tools (Runway, Kling AI, Seedance, Happy Horse, etc.) — viewing AI as an asset rather than a threat, with an understanding that continuity challenges in AI production require distinct creative calibration compared to live-action.
