Head of Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will strategically create and enhance information security and data protection frameworks, establishing a robust ISMS in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001 and a privacy structure compliant with the GDPR.

• You will serve as a trusted partner to management, IT, and business units, offering practical and secure solutions to support various projects.

• You will evaluate risks, propose suitable measures, and ensure the ongoing enhancement of security and data protection processes.

• You will integrate Security by Design and Privacy by Design principles into IT systems, processes, and product development initiatives.

• You will formulate and uphold policies, processes, and documentation in a straightforward and comprehensible manner.

• You will assist in audits, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and promote measurable improvements.

• You will manage security incidents and data breaches, investigate root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.

• You will foster a culture of openness regarding security and privacy through advisory services, training, and awareness initiatives, working collaboratively and solution-oriented to make a significant impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess hands-on experience in information security and data protection, with a passion for implementing security requirements in a practical and solution-oriented manner.

• You are driven to facilitate change, promote improvements, and view information security as a support function for the business rather than just a compliance obligation.

• You have familiarity with cybersecurity, cloud environments, safeguarding sensitive data, and relevant data protection regulations.

• You possess practical experience in managing security risks and executing vulnerability assessments.

• Ideally, you have a background in software development and are able to engage in technical discussions with development teams on equal footing.

• You are proficient in utilizing modern collaboration tools like Confluence and Jira for structured documentation and tracking of actions.

• You communicate fluently in both German and English, able to articulate complex security and privacy topics in an accessible manner.
