Head of Risk Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define performance benchmarks and operational metrics for the Fraud Intelligence Team, encompassing labeling volume, quality, turnaround time, cost efficiency, SLA adherence, and downstream business impact.

• Develop and implement scalable quality assurance protocols, including sampling methodologies, review frameworks, feedback mechanisms, and escalation processes.

• Rethink the team’s operational model, workflows, tools, and structure to enhance efficiency, scalability, and business results.

• Create an entry-level talent development program that includes hiring profiles, onboarding, training, and career advancement for Fraud Intelligence Analysts.

• Establish progression frameworks that facilitate the development of technical, analytical, and fraud expertise, fostering advancement and internal mobility.

• Design measurement frameworks that connect team activities to fraud prevention outcomes, model enhancements, fraud detection improvements, typology development, and customer impact.

• Initiate and expand projects that convert frontline fraud insights into actionable recommendations for Product, R&D, Analytics, GTM, and customer-facing teams.

• Act as a fraud subject matter expert and a strategic partner across functions.

• Create ongoing reporting, fraud trend analysis, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Utilize AI, automation, and process optimization to boost productivity, enhance quality, and direct the team’s efforts toward higher-value fraud intelligence tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in fraud operations, fraud intelligence, risk management, trust & safety, investigations, analytics, or a related field, including substantial leadership experience.

• More than 4 years of management experience leading a team of Fraud Analysts.

• Proven success in managing high-volume, quality-sensitive operational teams with measurable business outcomes.

• Strong fraud judgment and a keen interest in the evolving landscape of fraud patterns, typologies, and prevention strategies.

• Capability to design and refine processes, operational models, quality systems, and performance measurement frameworks.

• Experience in developing and mentoring early-career talent, building high-performing teams, and establishing internal mobility pathways.

• Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in leveraging data for opportunity identification, outcome measurement, and informed decision-making.

• Technical fluency and comfort in collaborating with product, analytics, engineering, machine learning, and data science teams.

• Experience utilizing AI, automation, workflow tools, or operational technologies to enhance productivity and quality.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and align diverse stakeholders towards common objectives.

• Strong ownership mentality and a history of driving change, executing ambitious goals, and ensuring team accountability.
